Class Policies
No backpacks on wheels please! First graders share lockers with another classmate and backpacks with wheels have trouble fitting into our lockers.
Homework:
Homework should be completed every night by the child but guided by a parent. An educational block of time should be set aside each evening. If the assignment is short, involve your child in free reading, flash card drills, or sight word recognition.
Your child can also log onto RazKids or IXL for extra practice and to reinforce skills taught. Be sure to set aside a time to read to your child for at least 10 minutes every night.
Although the homework sheet has all the assignments for the week listed, please have your child complete ONLY the assigned activity for that day. PLEASE DO NOT GO AHEAD. Please remember to sign the homework sheet each night so I know you worked with your child and read any reminders.
I will check homework each day so if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me or send me in a note. Make sure you sign the homework sheet every night.
