About GCS

Greenwich Catholic School is a regionally-incorporated, accredited, non-profit institution in the State of Connecticut. We are governed under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport. The Greenwich Catholic School Board of Education is an advisory body comprised of parents and members of the community.

Philosophy
At Greenwich Catholic, we believe that each child is a unique, creative and responsive person who grows and learns through interaction with others in an atmosphere of faith, which fosters Christian living.


















Educational Approach
We seek to create a learning environment which encourages higher order thinking skills through the development approach of thematic study with an integrated curriculum infused with Gospel values and coupled with innovative team teaching.


Student Body
Greenwich Catholic School admits boys and girls of any race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin. Our students are drawn from Greenwich, Stamford, and neighboring Westchester communities. In kindergarten through 5th grade, there are two classes in each grade. Currently, there are three classes of 6th and 7th grades and two classes for 8th grade. There are approximately 460 students enrolled in the school.

Faculty
There are forty five faculty members at Greenwich Catholic School. Approximately 40% of the faculty have earned advanced degrees. The school also employs a full time nurse, a library/media specialist, computer teachers, a psychologist/social worker, a speech therapist, and a Chapter 1 teacher.
